Two key reports about Queensland’s racing industry and the treatment of animals remain largely hidden from the public.
The first is the Independent Review of the Queensland Racing Industry, a publicly funded review that was supposed to examine the future of thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing. Despite the serious animal welfare concerns, ongoing injuries and deaths, and the use of public money, the full report and its recommendations have not been released—though the industry has already been briefed.
The second is the Post-Design and Construction Review of the Q Greyhound Racing Facility, which was meant to examine safety measures following the opening of the $90 million facility, after a shocking spate of greyhound deaths and injuries. Only a limited summary has been published, leaving out key details like costings, timelines, and who is responsible for implementing changes.
Take Personal Action to demand full transparency and show that Queenslanders will not accept hidden reports while animals continue to suffer.
You can take action below by sending a personal email to the Minister for Sport and Racing, Tim Mander MP, and the Queensland Premier, David Crisafulli, calling on them to release the reports without further delay.
