Starting at Queensland Gardens, Brisbane, and continuing to Brisbane Parliament House, on Saturday 1 August, more than 400 people and 60 greyhounds marched in support of phasing out greyhound in Queensland.
We heard from incredible speakers including Alex Brittan, former Chief Veterinary Officer of GRNSW, Jennifer Howard MP and Michael Berkman – Greens MP for Maiwar. Their powerful words inspired even more people to join this growing movement.

It was the day that New Zealand officially ended greyhound racing. We gathered to make it clear that Australia shouldn’t be far behind.
Every year, greyhounds are injured and killed on racetracks across Queensland, while thousands more never make it to the track at all. Despite repeated welfare concerns and growing public opposition, the industry continues to receive government support.
Our parliamentary petition is calling on the Queensland Government to begin phasing out greyhound racing.
