As the racing industry prepares for another Melbourne Cup season, horses across Australia will be put through the intense demands of racing, with many facing injury, exhaustion, and death.
Horses are individuals who deserve to live their lives for themselves, not to be bred, trained, and raced for “entertainment” and profit. That’s why we’re continuing to speak up for horses and to challenge an industry that treats their lives as a disposable part of the “sport”.
This November, we’ll again be taking that message to the streets with Nup To The Cup, our annual protest against horse racing, and our social event celebrating kindness and compassion. Whether you join us in person, support the cause from afar, or simply help spread the word, there are many ways to stand with horses this racing season.

Mark your calendars! AnimalKIND’s annual Nup to the Cup event is back this year on Friday, October 30th at The Burrow! Join us for an evening of good food, great company, and compassionate conversation as we take a stand against cruelty in the name of entertainment.
Tickets are just $25 per person and include a light vegan supper (think delicious pizza!), plus raffles, games and plenty of good times.

On Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday November 3, AnimalKIND will be taking a stand at Eagle Farm Racecourse with a peaceful protest to honour the horses who suffer and die for the racing industry. We’ll be outside the gates with signs, leaflets, and a clear message: cruelty is not a celebration. After the protest, we’ll head to a nearby park for a relaxing picnic with games and light vegan refreshments.
